about shiri

There are understandable reasons why we struggle, get overwhelmed, and feel alone. Sometimes it can be hard to find the words to express what is happening inside of us. Perhaps, we have words but no one with whom we can safely share them. I know it can be difficult to talk and trust that someone will understand you.

Finding a therapist is a challenging and courageous step. I carry a deep sense of respect for and commitment to those I work with. In a warm and trusting space, we can expand into greater awareness and imagine new possibilities. Together, we can make sense of your current struggles and explore the deeper, underlying patterns that sustain them. I will honor your values, history, and perspectives. And, holding what you say in mind, we can examine old knowledge in a new light. Perhaps we will discover connections between things you have shared and what is left unsaid. Together, we will attend to and better understand the parts of you that often go unnoticed and unrecognized.

I work with people who experience complex trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, self-doubt, low self-esteem, perfectionism, shame, and struggle with emerging adulthood and identity. I understand the pervasive impact of childhood trauma and complex family dynamics. I support people through challenging life transitions and in developing a sense of who they want to be in the world. I believe that deep and authentic connection to others is essential to our sense of well-being. Our work together will be a vehicle to deepen your connection to yourself and others.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I lived in Florence, Italy. By speaking another language and immersing myself in another culture, I gained greater insight into how our cultural context informs our individual perspectives. I now provide therapy to adults and couples in English and Italian. I embrace the complexity of life, relationships, and humanity and feel honored to support people in their journeys. In turn, therapy offers a unique opportunity to deepen our self knowledge, open ourselves to connection, and develop greater agency in our lives.

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO plans. If you have a different plan, we will provide you what you will need to seek reimbursement from your insurance.
