About Santiago
I believe we are all doing our best to navigate the complexities of life. I work with people to help them gain a sense of agency, empowerment, and freedom. My patients find new ways of feeling about themselves and their relationships. In our work together, you will increase your awareness, understanding, and acceptance of your patterns, your history, and yourself.
It is very important to understand who you are, what you’ve been through, and where you’re coming from. Therapy is a process that can’t be rushed. I strongly believe that, for change to last, it has to come from within. The same symptoms experienced by different people may have vastly different origins. How could I help you if I don’t take the time to get to know you?
I will strive to honor the uniqueness of your journey. We’ll work together to create a space where all parts of you will be welcomed, where you can feel heard without feeling judged and be seen without feeling like you’re too much or not enough. We will understand the root of what’s troubling you and find ways to live a more intentional, authentic, and meaningful life.
I work with people who experience anxiety, depression, relationship issues, childhood trauma, complex PTSD, self-doubt, low self-esteem, or shame. I help individuals dealing with loss and grief, identity issues, problematic sexual behavior, life-work balance, life transitions, or cultural adjustment. I also work with people looking for ways to find more meaning and direction in their life. I provide therapy in English and Spanish.
I became a therapist after spending over a decade in the business world, helping corporations get to know the people they served. I appreciated the challenges and rewards of that part of my life, but I feel honored to be trusted by my patients and privileged to be part of their journey. Witnessing their courage and transformation every day reaffirms my hope in human resilience.
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO plans. If you have a different plan, we will provide you what you will need to seek reimbursement from your insurance.
