Our approach to clinical supervision
As a clinician, I believe curiosity is essential to do this work. As therapists, it is essential to remain curious about our experience, about the feelings that are stirred up by our patients, about the meaning of our reactions and feelings, and how they can be of service in the clinical process.
I believe the same is true for clinical supervision from a psychodynamic perspective. We will create a space where we can think out loud not only about your patient’s experiences but about your own in relation to them, in a way that feels constructive and useful. While I can’t aspire to have all the answers, we will work together to make sense of the challenges that are intrinsic to this work.
Some of the things we might discuss involve transference and countertransference dynamics, interpersonal and relational patterns in the dyad, and case formulation and conceptualization. My practice is mainly guided by object relations, intersubjective, attachment, and relational perspectives. You can read more about me here.
I have provided supervision and consultation independently and to students at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, the Institute for Clinical Social Work, and the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis.
If you would like to explore the opportunity of working together, please feel free to drop me a line or give me a call. I will welcome hearing from you.
